Sabado is saturday so pretty close. Domingo Ayuno. Kind of. But yeah. (I tried to say fat sunday by saying sabado rapido, oops) You have got to slow down ma that much excitement is going to get to an old lady like you :-) just kidding love you. So sounds like a cool week. Really they lost to the cowboys? Thats just embarrassing.
I miss the temple. Definitely didn’t appreciate it while I was there. Apparently when we leave we stop by the Santiago temple for a session with everybody that leaves. That will be cool kind of excited. But thats not for a long time.
Training is going good really. I’m learning the language slowly. Very slowly. Sanders is a machine I am constantly impressed by his knowledge of the gospel and of the language. Taught a new investigator couple and they kind of sortof (maso-menos) accepted a baptism date. Excited for that to progress to see how it all works out. They had another couple there that listened as well and it seemed to go over with them well to. So hopefully coming up we will get investigators. Right now we really don’t have investigators so we contact a lot. Like all day most day because our citas (appointments) fall through. Contacting some less or in actives trying to get them to come back to church. Its frustrating when you hear someone say that they believed the church and got baptized but stopped going and now they are attending a different church because it is easier or family wants them to. YOU KNOW ITS TRUE GOSH DANG IT! But yeah. So working on that.
Kind of a weird week overall, so tuesday was zone conference with Presidente Bleuth and the assistants and everyone. It was cool I didn’t understand like 90% of it though. But they had a video in english I liked so that was a good 9% of the meeting. Then we had almuerzo there with the zone. Had some amazing pollo empandas. Seriously probably the best food I have eaten. Then el Presidente went on splits with the district leader in Santa Barbera and we went on our way. Then we got a call that Presidente wanted to go on splits with us at 8. But we had pec at 8 so he came to that with us. It was cool he was impressed by how awesome our ward is. Our bishop is like hard core into missionary work so Bleuth was impressed. Then he took us out for completos and papas fritas (french fries) after. Super cool just to talk to him. He grew up in mexico actually on a farm. So we talked about that for a little bit. They would get 7 cuttings on average of alfalfa a year. Thats crazy. But yeah. It was nice because he is totally just trying to understand what he is doing too. Im not the only one! haha.
So the next day was interesting because Elder Haynes the short one in my casa, fell into the river. So there is this canal thing that is like halfway in our sector that separates a neighborhood from us. So we can walk around or jump it and save a ton of time. So they jumped it and Haynes threw is bag to Mcgeena ( i cant spell his name. He is from Peru) and mcgeena dropped it into the canal which has a little river in the bottom. So Haynes has to crawl all the way down and get his bag. The river is nasty its like sewage and trash. But all his stuff in his bag was soaked to the breaking point. We literally squeezed his scriptures dry. So wet. So everything of his is completely ruined. He is working on getting new stuff. Luckily his flashdrive and sd cards are still good. But his camera is toast. Then he ran back to other side to get his ring and we could not stop making Frodo jokes. He rolled up his pants, and didn’t wear shoes because he just got out of the river so he looked like Frodo so much. And he was looking for a ring, and oh man the irony. But yeah.
Ok he is shorter, here he is wearing Wyatts coat!
So I am in las americas. Its all first world so paved and everything just not well taken care of. Dirty and the sidewalks are crazy here. Like they will go up like 2 feet at random point. And the trees here are super low so I have to duck every ten steps. The people mostly have a car or truck but most people take meecros or taxi things. Lots of taxis all the time. Kids come out at night times but during the night they are in school. And no one in this country wakes up in the morning so no one is out then. They have a little top type thing called a trompa that is pretty fun. I picked it up pretty fast so its been fun. But the people are kinda just a lazy people. There are little shops that sell like bread and pop and stuff on every street. Legitly every street has at least one sometimes 2. So you never walk far for frac or pop. Or pan. The food is pretty much not super weird compared to american food. Had pasta last night. Like spaghetti stuff.
So last story, we had almuerzo on Domingo with the familia Elos, and they were trying to pronounce my last name. No one in this country has been able to come close its funny. I have several nicknames now, Elder Nuevo, Elder Frac segundo, and Elder Woodruff. Woodruff is easier to say for them and somehow one kid got woodruff out of Galbreath so i dunno. And Frac is a cookie oreo type thing that is delicous but my comp has a serious problem with them he eats like way to many. But so he is Elder Frac and they couldn’t say my name so im Frac Segundo. But back to the story they were trying to pronounce my name and gave up so they asked me what my first name is. So I snickered and said Wyatt. So they looked at me, tried once or twice and gave up. So they asked me what my second name (middle name) and I died laughing and said Zimri. The entire family gave me blank looks and gave up. My name will be the downfall of my mission. But it will be worth it because noone here will be able to forget it. They can’t say it but they wont forget it.
There is graffiti everywhere. Those are just some cool ones.
And i agree that Garretts house looks legit. Much better than my little casa here.
Pday we shop, plan, clean and nap. Next week we are thinking about going to see the volcano nearby. But until that we are unexciting. Its fun though honestly. But our sector is the city so we don’t have a cool ocean or anything to go see.
And yes i know that song that will now be in my head forever. But thats cool ill watch it sometime...oh wait no i wont.
Love you muchly,
Elder Galbreath the 6th/Frag Segundo/Woodruff.
Ps its been 2 month exactly since i left. Thats weird right?
He gets a little cold.
Pretty, green country.
